Babcock Insurance & Financial Group is an independent, family-owned insurance and financial agency in Glen Carbon, IL, serving the Metro East since 1995. Mike Babcock founded it, and his son Michael continues it today. Because the agency is independent, the team shops multiple carriers rather than pushing one company’s products.
One family, thirty years, the same handshake
Mike Babcock opened the agency in Glen Carbon in 1995, back when it was known as Babcock & Associates Insurance Center. A graduate of Southern Illinois University Edwardsville with a degree in business and marketing, Mike built the business on two things people remember: straight answers and real relationships. If a policy did not fit, he said so. If a claim needed a phone call, he made it.
His son Michael grew up around that standard and now co-owns the agency as its commercial broker. He carries the same approach into the business side of town, and he gives his time to the community too, serving on the boards of Project Periwinkle and Mountains to Molehills.
Nearly thirty years later, the name on the door is still the name that answers the phone. When you call Babcock, you reach the family, and the family knows your coverage.

Local accountability. We live and work in the Metro East, and we stay active where our clients are. Babcock holds memberships in the Bethalto, Collinsville, and Troy/Maryville/St. Jacob/Marine chambers, and in 2024 the agency joined the Keystone Insurance Group network, which gives an independent shop like ours more carrier access and underwriting muscle for our clients. We are licensed in Illinois and Missouri.
